New Recon Goggles to Offer HUD?

These goggles look absolutely crazy! The HUD(Heads up display) has the ability to tell you how fast you are going down the slope, how much air you got from your last jump, and quite possibly much more.

The Vancouver based company Recon Instruments has created a new idea that is going to take snowboarding and extreme sports as we know it to new heights. I have a feeling that these goggles are going to BLOW the competition out of the water for sure!

Check out what Darcy Hughes, Chief Marketing Officer for Recon, has to say about these new revolutionary goggles:
“What Recon Instruments has brewing up is a huge evolutionary step for alpine sports, and all action sports in fact. Wearable technology and sports is the newest ideal elevating performance, safety, training and fun, and Recon Instruments has the innovations and experience to lead the sporting world forward.”

Here's a little rundown of exactly what these goggles will have the capability to do:
  • Speed
  • Altitude
  • Vertical Odometer
  • Stopwatch/ChronosMmode
  • Temperature, Time
  • GPS Capabilities
All of these features are equipped for your viewing pleasure within the goggle itself! This is absolutely INSANE! The goggles are also compatible with any PC for USB charging and data transfer. There will also be software included with the goggles so you can track all your stats on the slopes!

The goggles will retail for a price around $400, and will be available in fall 2010. Until then head over to the Recon Instruments website at http://www.reconinstruments.com.
